This section is about some of our friends and associates.
TEKA™ is a member of the FileMaker® Technical Network, and was a
charter member of the Claris Solutions Alliance.
Theo has known and worked with Chris Kubica, PMP of Application Architects
since 1998, and recommends his firm highly.
Theo worked closely with Kevin Hammond of Database Development Services™ on a major project for Eli Lilly & Company. Kevin is about the closest
thing to a "FileMaker conversion appliance" ever seen.
TEKA™ has utilized frameworks from SeedCode™ Software, to use
as a starting point for several projects and can recommend SeedCode™ products
for their excellent design, interface,
and responsive support. SeedCode's John Sindelar received the 2004 FileMaker
Excellence Award for "Developing Outstanding Technical Resources for
the FileMaker Pro Community." SeedCode offers a range of simple, unlocked
calendar and scheduling templates for FileMaker Pro. Don't start your code
from scratch, start from SeedCode™.
Theo is an avid listener and a big fan of the Adatasol
Filemaker Podcast, and has appeared on the show on 1
Jun 2007, discussing Relational Database Theory, the originator
of the Relational model of data, Edgar F. Codd, Normalization,
and Relational data model abstractions
such as Generalization and Aggregation.
E. F. Codd gave a
remarkable verbal presentation in 1979 about how the Relational
model might be extended to handling hierarchies and other ontologies
titled
simply "Relational
Model of Tasmania" or RM/T. This discussion is still pertinent
today, was not well understood in it's day, and many scholars are
trying to understand the power, flexibility, and extensibility inherent
in the
Relational Model of Data. Codd later wrote up the paper and submitted
it to the ACM with the title, Extending
the Database Relational Moodel to Capture More Meaning. Through
the courtesy of the ACM, the paper may be downloaded as a scanned
PDF.
