Theo Gantos has over twenty-five years work experience in all aspects of Information
Technology. He has pioneered the application of advanced technology in many
organizations:

- 1980 - Distributed Computing using Z80 PC's
- 1981 - IBM PC's for Business Intelligence Modeling

- 1993 - Structured Cabling Systems
- 1994 - The World Wide Web
After spending several years in Chicago, Illinois with Digital Equipment
Corporation and Northwestern University, since 1993 Theo has had his own consulting
practice. Theo is flluent with multiple operating system platforms,
but prefers Apple computers
using Mac OS X for general office automation and
productivity use. Theo works right with senior management to build technology
strategy into
operations,
linking entire organizations from the desktop to
the
data center, suppliers, and customers.
Mr. Gantos has been using the Internet since 1984 and provides consulting assistance
and security for organizations and individuals wanting internet access. Theo
installed one of the first public high speed internet connections to Grand
Rapids, Michigan in 1994.
Theo has been a Certified Computing Professional of the ICCP since 1992. He was a charter member of the Dantz Development (the makers of Retrospect®) Partners Program. He was a member of the Claris Solutions Alliance program for FileMaker Developers in the 1990's, and is currently a FileMaker Technet Member.
He has also assisted in the design, development, marketing, and testing of products from ACT!, Eudora, Now Software (Now Up to Date®, Now Contact®, Now Utilities®), CE Software (makers of QuickMail®), Foresight L.C. (U.S. distributors of 4-Sight Fax, an Enterprise-wide cross-platform client/server fax gateway solution), and Foresight International, Ltd. (Developers of 4-Sight Fax). He was an initial beta tester of Mac OS X.
Theo is a charter member of the Netscape Communications Developers organization and has participated in the testing of Netscape® and Mozilla products.
He has been published internationally several times and notably has had one article appear in InfoWorld (6/94) and two in PowerPC news. (8/94)
Theo is active in Technology Associations such as AITP, DAMA, and ACM, and has served on the board of directors of the Chicago Chapter of the Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP), written articles, published the newsletter, and designed and built their website.
Theo was appointed by the Mayor of Evanston, Illinois to serve on the Evanston
Energy Commission in 2002. He was recognized by the City Club of Chicago
in 1991 with the
Laura Hughes
Lunde Award for Outstanding Individual Civic Leader, for public safety related
community-policing work on Chicago Mass Transit.
